Ghost Boot Wizard

Created using the Ghost Boot Wizard with additional drivers for Dell and Lenovo. Intel dropped support for Vista (PE 2.0) so this disk will not work for the Dell. I am working to create a symantec ghost boot disk for IBM Thinkpad T40 laptop. I am using the Symantec Ghost 7.5 version, Ghost Boot Wizard, I click add to creat a boot disk and the NIC driver that I loaded it does not work. I have got the correct driver for the laptop.

The 'mode=pdump' sets the mode of the cloning operation to 'partition dump': which means that the workstation will dump its partition to the server. 'src=1:2' represents that the source for the image is the First physical hard disk, and that hard disks Second partition.

The 'dst@MCitl' instructs the ghost program that the destination is MultiCast server '@MC' with the Session name 'itl'. The '/sure' switch forces a continuance of yes to all the questions asked by the normal ghost program. The switch '/quiet' turns off the interactive mode for the ghost program.

The final switch of '/rb' reboots the machine after it is done. If we are Implementing the Boot Disk Wizard for Client Disks, we would specify other parameters in this window. The ITL has 30 client (load) disks. We generally enable the formatting and quick format of each disk to ensure that the disk is clean prior to the ghosting operation.

Again we hit 'Next': At this point, the Ghost Creation Wizard gives a summary of the actions that are to be carried out upon all of the disks that are going to be made. You can read all of the options that you selected to ensure that you specified the correct parameters before making the diskettes.

You will then hit 'Next' and the wizard will begin to make the diskettes: prompting you for each disk.
